GRAMMY WINNERS QUINCY JONES AND AL SCHMITT

The Annual Celebration Will Highlight Sound Quality and Pay Homage
to Industry Legends at The Village Studios in West Los Angeles

WHO:
Honorees Quincy Jones and Al Schmitt, attendees include GRAMMY winner Patti Austin, piano prodigy Emily Bear, pop music girl group Blush, special NBC News correspondent Tom Brokaw, GRAMMY winner Siedah Garrett, five-time GRAMMY-winning producer and Recording Academy Chair Emeritus Jimmy Jam, current GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producer Kaskade, current GRAMMY nominee Ledisi, GRAMMY winner Shelby Lynne, Emmy®-nominated music director Rickey Minor, three-time GRAMMY winner Arturo Sandoval, Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow, Recording Academy Chair George J. Flanigen IV and members of The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing, along with musical artists, producers, and other prominent music industry figures will be in attendance.

WHAT:
The Producers & Engineers Wing® of The Recording Academy® will celebrate its sixth annual GRAMMY Week event with “An Evening Of Jazz” honoring 27-time GRAMMY® winner and multi-talented music producer Quincy Jones and 18-time GRAMMY-winning producer/engineer Al Schmitt for their commitment to excellence and ongoing support for the art and craft of recorded music. With their collective careers spanning more than 10 decades and both having started in the world of jazz music, Jones and Schmitt are legendary icons. Jones’ talent roster includes Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Jackson, among others. Schmitt has engineered for Natalie Cole, Cal Tjader, Ike and Tina Turner, Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, and Barbra Streisand, among others. He has produced for Jefferson Airplane, Jackson Browne, Sam Cooke, and Neil Young.
